In very basic simple terms, the Cycle of Life follows 4 basic stages in the following order:
- Stage 1 - Conception
- Stage 2 – Birth
- Stage 3 – Perseverance (Staying Alive!)
- Stage 4 – Reward (Enjoying the fruit of your labour – Success!)
The questions are:
- What happens at the end of Stage 4?
- Does the cycle of life start over, or is it the end?
- Do the lights get switched off at the end of stage 4, ending the cycle of life in pitch-black gloomy emptiness, or does some-or-other miraculous change take place?
- If the lights do get switched off, who is pulling the plug?
These, I believe, are the age-old questions that has been nagging the minds of mankind for centuries.
All religions have their own views regarding this great mystery, but what is the Christian view, and what do our Bibles, the Word of God, say about this? Why are so many people on this planet stuck in the rut of stage 3? Why are there so many of us who do not fully understand the transition from stage 3 to 4?
According to the Christian view, stage 4 is the inheritance of the Kingdom of God, a concept that even many Christians are finding hard to grasp in a world that is becoming increasingly more wicked by the day, but yet the Word of God spells out the hard truth in crystal-clear terms:
BEHOLD, I SHOW YOU A MYSTERY!
I Corinthians 15 (KJV):
50 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
If you examine the scriptures with full awareness and sobriety you will notice that verse 51 in the above scripture is not speaking about the deadline-date of stage 4, but rather the transition from stage 3 to stage 4. Verse 52 states quite specifically that we shall, in that transition, be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye.
We can compare this scenario to water boiling in a kettle. Water reaches its point of transition at boiling point when it changes its form into what we call “steam”. Although the general perception is that the steam vanishes into thin air, this not the case! If the steam makes contact with a colder surface, for example a glass window it turns into condensation which is the little droplets of water you see running down the window, - proof that the water has not vanished!
Verse 52 above furthermore tells us exactly WHEN that change in our lives will occur: It will happen at the sound of the last trump (at boiling point). As Christians we recognize the last trump as the Second Advent of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ (see Rev. 11:15 below). Jesus Christ was referring to his return to earth when He said:
“I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to undergo, and what constraint I am under until it is completed!” (Luke 12:49-50 NIV)
THE LAST TRUMP – REVELATIONS 11:5
(Transition from Stage 3 – 4)
(Transition from Stage 3 – 4)
“And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.”
Non-Christians, the uninformed, the unreached, and millions of ‘lukewarm’ Christians are in total darkness as to this mystery regarding the Cycle of Life. While many are hungry for this knowledge and are desperately crying out for help, there are others who are making it their livelong mission to refute, contradict, and scorn the Christian way of life. Yet behind the scenes these same scoffers are working hard to introduce a simulated manmade version of their own Christ, and they’re going to force this false messiah (the antichrist) on the entire world, -- and it WILL happen, because God’s Word says it will! The process is underway as we speak!
The very Creator of this awesome universe has been warning us of this impending deception, through the words of His many prophets who have, through the centuries, transcribed His Word in written text form. God has also given us numerous signs, in nature and in the heavens, that He IS our Creator, and for this reason He is in full control. BUT – that is only one fraction of the equation; the other fraction of the equation is that God is in warfare with His adversary, Satan! (See Revelations 12:7-9 in this regard).
Since science is still battling to figure out all the elements of the smaller fraction, which our mortal senses can perceive from the vantage point of planet Earth – a mere dust particle in the bigger scheme of things, I can only presume that there simply MUST be various other fractions of the equation we are not aware of. The concept of a God versus Satan conflict is something we will probably never understand, no matter how advanced science becomes!
I’ve noticed that NASA has been distributing some awe-inspiring images lately, painted in explosions of dazzling infrared colour, showing us small portions of God’s Universe. Although I do realize that I’m being a little daring by comparing the life cycle of a star to the life cycle of God’s souls, I still feel it is worthwhile making the comparison, because it illustrates God’s mind-boggling authority, and why His adversary wants this awesome power!
NASA, in their attempt to keep things simple - I presume, makes the grave error of stating that, “Just like human beings, stars have a life cycle -- they are born, mature and eventually die.” However, if one reads the full NASA statements on these issues you’ll see that they often contradict themselves in the very same article that speaks of a star’s so-called “death”. You will also notice that they often use the term possibly when making these statements, for they themselves do not really know for sure.
As an example, allow me to present an extract taken from one of NASA’s articles explaining the phenomenon, which they call “the supernova remnant” seen in the image below.
“Just like human beings, stars have a life cycle -- they are born, mature and eventually die. The manner in which stars die depends on their mass. Stars with mass similar to the sun typically become planetary nebulae at the end of their lives, whereas stars with many times the sun's mass explode as supernovae. IC 443 is the remains of a star that went supernova somewhere between 5,000 and 10,000 years ago. The blast from the supernova sent out shock waves that traveled through space, sweeping up and heating the surrounding gas and dust in the interstellar medium, and creating the supernova remnant seen in this image….” Source
If the star died between 5,000 and 10,000 years ago, how come it’s ‘death’ is still interacting with the environment and still sending out shock waves? How come we can photograph the phenomenon from inside our own tiny little galaxy in space?
SATAN = DEATH
I don’t think it is a coincidence that “die” and “lie” actually rhyme, for death is merely one of Satan’s many names, which incidentally, is why the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ was necessary, for Christ abolished death – (see II Timothy 1:10).
“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23)
“For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” (Romans 8:6)
“The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.” (I Corinthians 15:26)
“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?” (I Corinthians 15:55)
“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;…” (Heb. 2:14)
“And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him….” (Rev. 6:8)
And last, but not least…
“The sting of death (satan) is sin; and the strength of sin is the law (God’s Law). But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory (over death) through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.” (I Corinthians 15:56-58 KJV - Own emphasis added in brackets.)
