PAINTING A PICTURE OF EVIL (PART 1)

INTRODUCTION

Mankind has been in the midst of a battle between God and Satan since the beginning of time! Satan’s onslaught on our minds and souls has been characterized by all manner of warfare, --- from outright open attack on our bodies, minds, and souls, to cleverly disguised schemes of deception. The more we understand and recognize this, and trust the wisdom and goodness of God, the better off we will be as Christians, -- in every aspect of our lives!

The magnificent beauty of God’s creation surrounds us in many forms --- but so does evil. God’s creation is timeless, and constant, while evil is the exact opposite. Since evil was born it has been behaving like a crazed beast, rushing in panic-driven terror towards a venue where humiliation and failure awaits, --- and in the process it is hoping to drag as many souls as possible with it. It is doing all this in the disguise that it is leading us to victory and eternal peace. It is trying its utmost to imitate God, but it is making a hopeless mess of things!

(The covert or disguised forms of evil are complex. Although the series of articles I intend publishing here in 4 parts will reveal some of these covert schemes, it really needs to be discussed in a totally separate article.)

It is easy to recognize the visible elements of evil in the many injustices we see in our diverse societies, --- the barbaric acts of violence, the senseless murders, the extreme racial hatred, and so on… but what is it and where did it come from? Surely all human beings cannot all be deceitful and evil – sinners yes, but not evil! Surely God cannot be punishing the entire human race, or one specific race, simply because He’s God, and He can!

In order to put a face to evil we need to paint a picture of Satan --- however, we do not know what he looks like (although there are several descriptions of this character in the Holy Scriptures, – another issue which deserves a separate discussion), so for now our next best option is to paint a picture of Satan’s son, who is known in the Scriptures by the name of Cain. The following series of articles (in four parts) promises to do exactly that, and when you’re done reading you should have a realistically clear picture of who Satan is, and also where evil originates from.

One of Satan’s many ploys is his ability to disguise the true identity of those who support him, --- the dedicated followers of Cain’s way. This is in sharp contrast to the true followers of Jesus, whom you’ll seldom find hiding behind fake identities, or in secret organisations.

Man has attempted to paint a picture of evil and what Satan is like by pointing fingers to others -- (Another name for Satan is “The Accuser”).

Adolf Hitler will probably get the nod for being the ultimate incarnation of modern evil, but there were many others. Can you remember the days when Mikhail Gorbachev, the last head of state of Communist Russia, was thought by many Western Christians to be the Anti-Christ, simply because he had a birthmark on his forehead?

In Africa we have so many characters labelled as evil it is almost impossible to compile a complete list. Idi Amin Dada, who took power in a military coup in Uganda in 1971, is but one of many African leaders who are considered by many as the personification of evil. The President of Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe, is another one. Eugene de Kock, known as the apartheid killer in South Africa, has been labelled as ‘Prime Evil’. The apartheid system is now considered as “that evil draconian regime”, and its leaders as evil oppressors. A large group of white folk, all over the world, believe all black people are evil and they’ll go full-throttle to prove it! Similar sentiments exist among black folk, and many firmly believe that all white people are from the devil! Islamic extremists want to kill people because they too believe they are fighting evil. Satan has truly created a royal mess, hasn’t he?

The worldview concerning this subject usually states: “The problem of evil is the difficulty of explaining the existence of evil if the world was created by a perfect and omnipotent God.” This statement illustrates a lack of wisdom…

“For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.” (I Corinthians 3:19)

“Wisdom is before him that hath understanding; but the eyes of a fool are in the ends of the earth.” (Proverbs 17:24)

I am not suggesting that I have a divine wisdom to preach to others. In the subsequent articles related to this issue I am not going to preach to no one. I am merely going to present a logical collection of very interesting and straightforward facts - presented in a easy-readable form, that will hopefully broaden your understanding and concept of where evil came from, what it looks like, where it went, and why God is ultimately ALWAYS in control, --- although it does not always seem like it!

While we explore this topic many other issues will also come to the fore. These issues will include brief discussions concerning God’s ancient people from His first creation – the black races of Africa, the origin of the white races, the controversial subject of race-mixing (also known as miscegenation), the last ice-age and deglaciation, the Australian Aborigines, the excursions of the biblical Cain, Noah’s flood, the birth of terror in Central Asia, --- and a few other interesting topics.

If you’re a Christian and a firm believer in the gospel of Jesus Christ - the Son of God, then this is a journey you simply cannot miss, because it will reveal, among other things, who the followers of Cain’s ways are in our modern times. As true followers of Jesus and His teachings, I believe it is worthwhile knowing the enemy!

STAY TUNED FOR PART 2

Postscript:
Subsequent articles will be published twice weekly. While you’re waiting for PART 2 to arrive, I highly recommend you explore the subjects discussed in the previous post titled, “For The Beginning-Intermediate Student”, authored by Nick Goggin.

If your time is limited, and you would prefer to get to the nitty-gritty stuff as soon as possible, then follow these three external links, one by one:

When was the beginning?
Did it begin a mere six-thousand years ago with Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden?

Mankind and the TWO SEPARATE Creation events
. This is not a new religion or a new philosophy. It is all there -- clearly written in the Holy Scriptures – God’s Word!

What was the real sin in the Garden of Eden?
When you learn the truth from God's Word on this, much of the Bible is at once put into perspective.

TAKE NOTE:
I wholeheartedly agree with most of Nick Goggin’s interpretations of the Holy Scriptures (and other men with similar views), but these views need not necessarily be accepted in order to appreciate the forthcoming articles I will be posting – i.e Part 2 – 4, as I will be adopting a fresh approach to this topic. The only reason why I am referencing the above external links, is because the subsequent articles ,and especially Part 2, will make mention of certain issues that most Christians are unfamiliar with, and which God-fearing men like Nick Goggin, and many others, have already explained in-depth. I also do not see the point of duplicating material that already exists online, as this can unnecessarily increase the length of a posting, which in turn can cause the intended message to be lost in a flurry of too many words!
