CHRISTMAS - DECKED WITH SILVER AND GOLD

So there we have it, another year is fast approaching its end! The crazy month of December is upon us, and so are the multitude of symbols and images, scattered all over the place, reminding us that Christmas has arrived. Before we know it, Xmas-time will have come and gone too, leaving many folk entering the New-year with near-zero bank balances, or overdrawn credit facilities.

It’s a sure sign of insanity when we never learn from our past mistakes, but yet, because we’ve lost our minds, we tend to do it again and again, --- every year, almost as if we’ve been preconditioned to accept this as ‘normal’ behaviour.

In reality, our behaviour is far from normal. December-month is a time of extreme escalations. Death figures soar sky-high due to road accidents, drunken driving, suicides, and all sorts of outrageous behaviour. The amount of adverts also escalate, urging us to buy all sorts of bargains we don’t really need. This year the criminals in my country (South Africa) went on an early shopping spree, --- to avoid the rush in December!

Most knowledgeable people are well aware that "Christmas" was a pagan festival long before the time of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, but yet Christians and non-Christians all over the world persistently celebrate this yearly event with silver and gold, and anything else that sparkles, dazzles and flickers, in an apparent attempt to create a theme ‘feeling’ of joy and happiness.

Personally, I don’t have any gripes with folk who celebrate Christmas. My main purpose with this posting is to point out the farcical aspect of it all.

The Godless South African constitution, which has eliminated the phrase, "In humble submission to Almighty God," to fit in with the Marxist-Communist agenda, has been used as the ‘main spanner’ in the works, to victimize Christians in this country.

Christian studies and prayers in any public school is now illegal. Not only is it unconstitutional, but it is also an infringement of the South African National Policy on Religion in Education (as published in the Government Gazette 25459 of 12 September 2003, notice 1307). See my previous posting, --- ‘Get your kids out of state schools, come hell or high water!

During March this year, I reported an incident that occurred at Lyttleton police station in Centurion, when a government official caused a big scene, demanding the immediate removal of a small Christian Cross, which was on display at the entrance to the complex. View the full article here.

There are numerous similar examples of government actions in this country, aimed at abolishing from State property any form of Christian worship or, as in the example of the Cross I’ve mentioned, any images of Christianity in government buildings. With Christmas being a traditional Christian holiday, I would say that it would thus be rather farcical if the President, or any government official in this country, wishes all South Africans a merry, safe and blessed Christmas, don’t you think?

“Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them. For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe. They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.” -- (Jeremiah 10: 2 - 4)

WISHING ALL MY READERS A HAPPY, SAFE AND BLESSED FESTIVE SEASON!
